sub-$2 IIRC in Ecuador I have never seen it over $2.50 over the last 5 years in travels to Ecuador, Argentina, and Peru. I realize Ecuador is cozy as can be with Chavez, but still, I do not see why the Diesel/Gas price ratio here is inverse to those countries. Their gas prices were similar to ours, just slightly cheaper. There are far more propane conversions on the roads down south than here because gas is too expensive for their incomes, even though it would be a break for our incomes.
